Inverted Star for Jennifer!

Jennifer here is your star!!  Sorry the picture isn't very good....cell phone... I love the colors!  My brain hurt while trying to lay it out!  However, I didn't follow the directions given for sewing it up...I found that for me it was easier to sew by sections...left to right bottom square section, then bottom middle square section, bottom left square section, then sew them all together and start on the middle section.   I knew if I did all the chain sewing of the half square triangles and then placed them I would get lost!!  Anyway, after getting past the first part of laying each of the triangles/squares out to see where I was headed with it, it was fun and fast to put together.

Can't wait to see the finished quilt!

Pinwheel's for Liz Johnson

Liz, sorry the picture is blurry. This pattern was so easy and I loved doing it!   I'm working on Llewellyn's now and I can't wait to get your fabric Jennifer so I can get all caught up before April is over:):)

And finally...

Inverted Star in Red and Purple

If you haven 't had a chance to check out Liz Holman's tutorial on this square- you should.  She very clearly defines how to get those seams to line up.  Mine aren't perfect... but they are to my standards (which means very close).   =)   If you didn't receive your fabric last week please call me.  (With the exception of Mardie's sister- I mailed it to you on Monday.)  I should have driven it over- I was just passing through Springville on Saturday.   Thank you all for your efforts!

Sweetie Pie Quilt for Sweetie Pie Rhiley!

I finished this quilt for my cousin's first grandchild, Rhiley. He was born prematurely but I am still late in getting it to him. I hope he enjoys cuddling with the bright orange minky as well as finding the colorful planes on the other side of the fabric.

I used the pattern "Sweetie Pie" by Strawberry Patches (www.strawberry-patches.com)

The blue airplane fabric is  "Ready Set Go" by Anne Kelle for Robert Kaufman.
The blue print fabric is "Bungle Jungle" Oodles in Aqua by Tim and Beck for Moda
The orange dot fabric is "Pimatex Basics Orange" by Robert Kaufman
The stripe fabric used for binding is "Stripe C" by Timeless Treasure

I sent the quilt off to Missouri Quilt Co for the quilting and they did an awesome job....using orange thread in an airplane design.  Can't wait to get this to little Rhiley!!!

April Assignment: Inverted Star in Purple and Red

http://12squared.blogspot.com/2012/08/august-inverted-star.html

The above link will take you to an awesome tutorial posted by the other quilting group in our friends circles.  It was beautifully done by Liz Holman, Mardie's daughter.

I am providing ALL of the fabric needed.  I have cut all of the different sizes of blocks in the white fabric and the other color.  You will see quickly that the color scheme is purple and red.

If you're reading this and I do not have your phone number... then I do not have your address.  =)  Please respond to Marnita's request to provide her your current address.   If I have your current mailing address, then your fabric will go into the mail today or in the morning.  Otherwise, it will be next week when I return from my trip out west.

Thanks SO MUCH ladies!  Lots of love to you all!
Jennifer

A Drunkard's Path for Llewellyn. Butterflies for Maria Mae. Pretty Dresses for ME!

This was a challenging square. But I really enjoyed it.
(My photos don't do the lovely fabrics justice.)

Hope you like it, Llewellyn

And here are some more butterflies for Maria Mae

I also finished a wonderful project from "12Squared". It is called "Pretty Dresses". Aren't they lovely? It is so bright and cheerful. I tried "meandering" on my machine.
I love how it turned out!
