A New Year A New Beginning

After a couple of months without a computer I borrowed my sisters to get some work done on this blog and with our group.

I am assuming that all except Jennifer Schwartz are going to be with the group this year.  If for someone reason you are not able to be a part of our group, please let me know.

I have assignments for this year.  I realize we are a month behind but I think we should be able to catch up quickly.

Sally  and Liz are still due squares from last year.  Can you both quickly put up a tutorial for your squares and we can work them in as we get some time.  If anyone needs help doing these extra squares just give me a call and I can do them.

Here are the 2013 assignments:

January   Connie
February   Mardie
March     Sherrie T.
April       Emily
May        Jennifer
June        Llewellyn
July        Vanitta
August    Sherri D.
September    Sally
October      Marnita
November   Liz
December   Open Slot

As you can see we are in need of another quilter.  If you have someone you think might want to be a part of this just let me know...

Obviously there is going to be a little leeway for January squares to get done since the month is over.  Mardie, please let me know if putting up a tutorial for Feb is going to be okay or if I need to swap.

A Very Late Progress Report

I finished some squares some time ago and have not been able to post them.  I have a wonky house for Jennifer R.

The colors don't really show well in this picture but they are vibrant in real life!

I have a red, black and white square for Sherri D.

I will deliver Jennifers and mail Sherri's very soon.

Sherrie D... SURPRISE, it's your square!

Sherrie, this was really fun!
It went together so fast because you had everything cut out and you had a great tutorial.
I am embarrassed it has taken me so long to finish it.

I had to stretch some of the black polka dot strips to make it long enough, but I think it is ok. I worried it would make it a bit rippled. But it lays quite nicely. Anyway, as my daughter says, it will all look great after you wash it.

I hope you like it.
Mardie

Triangles... Done!

Look what is finished!! I love, love, love it! It is JUST right.

The blue border really ties the colors to the rooms in the house! I love how the red just POPS!
Your squares mixed up just perfectly!

Here is the back. Aren't the roses lovely? I put 3 different stripes in the back.
I stitched in the ditch in parallel lines. Then around the edges.
(My ditch stitches are actually getting closer to the ditch!)

Thank you, Urban Chiks... I LOVE the fabrics. I am an "Urban Cowgirl"! LOL
THANK YOU, Trading Pieces Ladies. I love it!

I also finished my Christmas quilt for "12-Squared". I had hoped to have it done by Christmas 2012, but it's ready for 2013. My concept was to create a "stained glass" window look. Each square is a window pane, with the red serving as the "leading" between the colored glass.

Here is the back. I have 2 stripes on this one. Isn't this fabric just scrumptious?
Thanks to "3 Sisters" for "Sentiments" by Moda.

It feels so good to actually finish some projects.
Love to all. Happy New Year!

(If you don't have a "walking" foot for your machine, get one.
You will have a fantastic time with it. What a difference!)
