my hindsight suggestion: save your 2" squares for the center where it gets crowded (the same side as the white stripe)
here are my orange hourglass squares for Mardie! (sorry the picture isn't great - the sun decided not to come out today)
is this square supposed to remind us that time is ticking? :)

I also love the one for connie. Emily, I don't quite understand your comment about the center. I just got the fabric, so I will keep that in mind when I get sewing.
Mardie - Connie included some squares for the tips of the diamonds so there's not so many seams at the point. I used most of mine at the end that is on the outside of the star instead of the inside where it gets bulky. does that make sense?
