Trading Pieces: Sherrie's Squares & more

Here are Sherrie's squares that Vee (my mom) and I made. They were cut out and sewn into triangles for about 8 weeks before I finished them today. Chad got called in on a sales project that took him to Southern California. We knew the project would last at least two weeks. We decided on a whim to join him. We were there for 2 1/2 weeks then we took another week (or more) to get home. We visited family and took the kids to Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore. We were gone 1 day shy of a month. 28 humid free days.

Sherrie's bday was in April. Vee (pictured below) and I decided to make a table runner for Sherrie's kitchen table. She was thinking about having us make tea kettle squares for her Trading Pieces quilt. Mom and I jumped the gun and made this for her. It was a lot of fun. For the border, we used a faux piping technique that Emily S. taught me. I have plans to use this technique more in the future. It is really neat and adds so much to the final project.

This was mom's square for Llewellyn. I have yet to finish mine. I'm sorry. =( I have had a plan for more than two months. It is my next project... as in I will start on it no later than tomorrow.

Sherrie's Grandson, Eric, was born Feb 12th. I had grand plans to sew a blessing outfit for him. Instead, I cut it out and finished only the last little bit. Sherrie and mom completed most of it. It is made out of batiste, which is a lightweight cotton. Mardie, I would love for you to post pictures of the blessing outfit that Eden was blessed in.... it is absolutely gorgeous.

Here are a couple of notebook covers I made for Jillian and my niece Ashley. It fits a composition notebook.

Another one of my bookmarks. This one was for my kids Nana. I loved the color combinations on this one.

Finally, I have taken a picture of a coloring caddy that I sewed for a sweet girl in my primary class. Oliver was invited to her birthday party. I have sewn at least 6 of these over this last year, and I think this is the first one I've gotten a picture of before I've given it away.
