So... with the help of Liz and Mardie, my feather is complete! The corners were tricky. I TOTALLY had to have help with them. Anywho, hope you enjoy, Emily. :)

Sampler quilt and Mardie's Double Hourglass... Coming along!
I have been working on making duplicate squares whenever I am able and have the time. These are the squares I have chosen for my first "sampler" quilt. (I have more squares for a second!) They are examples from the first 2 years of Trading Pieces and 12 Squared. It is a little like "I spy... my square!" Can you find yours? (I will be changing out one of the "Granny Squares" for a "Dresden Plate" I am working on.)
Any ideas for sashing? Don't quite have a handle on that yet. All I know is that the squares look better separated than mushed together.
Below is what I have so far for my "Double Hourglass" quilt! I am loving how it is coming together. The bright colors you have chosen are perfect! Mixed in with the squares that I have made, it is looking just like I wanted it too... except not big enough yet.
Thanks to: Connie, Marnita, Maria Mae, Sherrie T, Emily and Llewellyn for sending such gorgeous squares. It's another game of "I spy... my square!" Can you find yours? It will be so fantastic when all the squares are in!
I am SO excited to sew this one together!

The Inverted Star - OH YEAH!
May: Liz's Inverted Star in Purple and Red
Helloooooooo, my sweet friends! I have tossed around a couple of ideas for patterns for this month's quilt block assignment. And, I have settled on the Inverted Star that Liz did with the 12squared group last year. I adored it so much.
I have provided a link to her tutorial, just click through the title "Liz's Inverted Star in Purple and Red" above.
I will send you ALL the fabric you need. I am going to try REALLY hard to send them all out to you by this time next week.... why you ask? Well, I intend on sending out squares with the fabric to you sweet ladies whom I owe squares! =)
The color scheme may seem a little odd. However, I intend on gifting this to Jillian. Her bday is this month and I've promised her a purple and red quilt. (I've had the fabric for a year.)
I miss seeing/quilting with you all! I have been in a real sewing slump. I hope this catch up phase will trigger a new sewing season with me. I need to create.
With MUCH Love,
Jennifer Russell

Feathers and Stars and a Wild Square, oh my!
I think I am up to date! At least for now... A Feather for Emily
After time away from home, and the Joint RS Conference with NLR and my sewing machine in the shop, I have been able to get back to sewing. What a fun week I have had!
This one for Sherrie was wild and fun.
Connie's star was quite the handful. If I re-do it one more time,
it will come apart at the seams!

Here is Liz Johnson's feather (or as her husband would say... her "hippy monolith"... whaaaaa?)
Thanks, Liz! It's perfect!

Ruffled Feathers
Here is my square for April!
Isn't she lovely?! Imagine the bird this feather came from! It's called Feather Bed Quilt by Anna Maria Horner. I am mailing the instructions and the fabric today (the prints are also designed by Mrs. Horner). You should receive yours VERY soon. I ADORE the prints and I LOVE the design. Can't wait to see your squares... er, rectangles... flying back to me.
Oh, and have an orange, because apparently, it's vitamin C day!
