Hello, Ladies.
Connie and Llewellyn are enjoying themselves at a Lake House outside of Houston. Unfortunately, they don't have internet access. So...I will give you the blocks we will work on this month and later, when they return, they will post pictures of the blocks they have sewn.
November Blocks:
16, 41, 92, 108, 111, 9, 18, 47, 31, 65, 61, and 82
The block numbers are listed in the back of the book. Be careful, it is easy to get the block number confused with the page number.
You will need to download all the patterns from the disk that is located in the back of your book. Once you have downloaded the patterns you can print them off and sew, sew, sew. You will notice that you can only print one pattern at a time and will use a lot of paper.
If you have any questions or problems just post in this blog or email one of us and we can walk you through everything.
Good Luck!
One last thing, if you are looking through the book and find some squares you would love to do just email Connie or Marnita and we can slate those favorites into the future months.

Time to re-group!
Hello Ladies,
This blog has been inactive for quite a while and we need to re-group here to see where we should go from here. Marnita moved to Utah this summer and I helped her move out there then spent about 6 weeks out there with her and my daughter. Lots of fun! But now I have to get back to real life which includes some homeschooling and this blog!
First of all, we need to get squares to group members. I know that Emolyn is missing squares and Vanitta is missing squares. Yes, I am guilty....I haven't finished either of these squares BUT we all need to get them finished and mailed to these two sweet ladies.
Who else is missing squares? Kristen, did you get all of yours? I have the square to work on that you sent to MariaMae (she is no longer participating).
So here is what I am proposing:
I would like for everyone to get squares completed during the month of September and October. Then I am proposing that we go in a different direction with this group. I think for this next year we will make this a sew along blog. This would mean that we would put up a project and each member is responsible for their own materials and sewing (you would NOT send out fabric to anyone nor would anyone else sew for you). Then you would post pictures of your completed square to the blog.
I would like to do the Farmer's Wife Quilt as a sew along for the group. For this, you would have to purchase the book here.
Then you would gather your own fabrics, etc. I will post squares that we would work on for the month, (i.e. November, work on square 3, 6, 8, and 10). They are small squares and you can actually make quite a few in one or two sewing days.
Here is an example that I pulled from Pinterest. You can also do a Farmer's Wife Quilt search in Pinterest and see more examples.
Sampler quilts are usually great for sew a longs, so if you have a favorite sampler quilt pull the information together and share here on the blog so that we can have several projects to work from or choose from.
So basically the first thing is we need to FINISH any blocks we have and get them to their owners. If you can't or don't want to finish the block.....PLEASE get it to someone else in the group so they can complete it for you. I am setting October 15th as the absolute deadline. PLEASE help me get these done so people can finish their quilts.
2nd, let me know if you have a missing block from someone so we can put a fire under them to get it to you!
3rd, let me know if you are interested in the quilt a long version of the blog. This will mean that you will purchase the book and have your materials ready to go by November 1st. You can't do the quilt a long without the book...it has the paper patterns and the instructions and it is copyrighted so we can't put the instructions on the blog. Also, I will post a couple of other quilt a longs where the instructions can be shared on the blog if you are interested in those.
Ok, I am hoping to hear from each of you very soon.
Thanks,
Connie

Clean up in 2015 for 2014?
With a new year, I am wondering about a few "clean up" items/questions.
1. Were there squares for October, November or December of 2014? I know that at least a couple of us did not receive anything for those months.
2. I got Emolyn's square in the mail for February, but nothing for January.
3. Maria Mae is no longer participating. (Did I forget to tell you, Marnita? Sorry!)
By the way, I have all of the squares for my 2014 Rainbow project (laid out on my bed here). I can now put it together, starting with piecing flying geese for the corners of the sashing... I'll post pictures when I'm done! Thank you all, for your lovely squares!
I also want to announce the newest additions to our family. (How do you get pictures next to each other? I thought I knew how... )
Andy Gareth Curtis. Born to our youngest daughter, Grace, January 4, 2015.
Happy 2015 Sewing!
Love, Mardie

Two brothers! Clark, 2 1/2 and Andy.
Plus! I no longer have to fight with my regular machine (or threaten to throw it out of the window) while quilting my projects! This Viking Platinum16 Mid-Arm machine has a 16" 'harp' opening!
Woo Hoo! Come and play!
Happy 2015 Sewing!
